Happy Friday, everyone!! It is a very happy Friday for me. Last night I finished and posted my 2nd grade writing curriculum, which was the last of two major projects this summer (the first project was my 1st grade writing curriculum). Although the ideas and lessons for both of the curriculum products have been in the works for quite a while, this summer I took the time to put both of them together. And it was quite a project!
For those of you who use my 2nd grade reading workshop curriculum, shared reading curriculum, and/or writing curriculum, here is a pacing chart that I hope will be helpful for you throughout the year (click on the image to download it).
As you can see, the reading workshop units and shared reading units match up very closely. The writing units do match up, but not quite perfectly (mostly because although opinion and persuasive writing is part of writing workshop, I don’t have reading units on reading just persuasive texts). However, the reading and writing units do overlap as much as possible, so that the kids are reading and writing in the same genre as much as possible.

As always, if you have any questions, feel free to email me! Have a great day and a wonderful weekend!
I’m curious about how you organize this- do you print it all out, or use it on the ipad? I just purchased, and would love any tips on organizing it!
Hey Sarah! I have spiral bound a few of the units, but honestly, many times I just refer to the lessons from my computer or iPad. I do print out the visual aids, however. I go through each unit, print those visuals, and then usually use digital copies of the lesson plans. I hope this helps!!
